WorkTown + Stripe
WorkTown uses Stripe's payment infrastructure to tokenize payment details, process client payments, verify eligible accounts, and deliver provider payouts. WorkTown remains responsible for the marketplace experience, fee disclosure, Payment Protection workflow, support, and transaction records.

Providers connect a payout account through Stripe Connect. Stripe collects the banking and identity information it requires and delivers eligible payouts to the provider's selected account.
For supported jobs, WorkTown authorizes or collects the client payment and releases provider funds according to the job's completion, approval, cancellation, refund, and dispute rules. Payment Protection describes this workflow; it is not a bank account or insurance product.
WorkTown may use Stripe Identity and Stripe Connect verification to reduce fraud and meet payment-network requirements. Stripe may ask providers for information separately for identity verification and payout eligibility.
WorkTown itemizes its platform fee separately from applicable Stripe payment costs. Estimates can vary by payment method, currency, invoice method, and payout method. Final deductions and net payout appear in the transaction record.
Refunds, cancellations, chargebacks, and disputes follow the booking terms and payment lifecycle. Some Stripe processing, currency-conversion, payout, or dispute costs may not be returned after the original transaction.
Depending on the transaction structure, Stripe may charge WorkTown or the connected provider account. When WorkTown pays an attributable Stripe cost, WorkTown may recover that cost from the transaction as separately disclosed. Stripe's services are governed by Stripe's applicable terms, while WorkTown's services are governed by the WorkTown Terms.
